Date | 1986 |
Description | Video interview with Peter Robinson, DUP MP for Belfast East, for ITV World In Action The Hardliner in 1986. On 15 November the Anglo-Irish Agreement was signed by the British and Irish governments. Large sections of unionist opinion in Northern Ireland opposed the Agreement, leading to the resignation of unionist MPs from Westminster, large public demonstrations and, in some cases, loyalist attacks on the RUC. In this interview Robinson discusses the Anglo-Irish Agreement and the outbreak of violence in Northern Ireland. World in Action was a current affairs and investigative programme broadcast between 1963 and 1998. |
